- The Classic route via Dover/Calais has 11 stages of 17-65km (11-41 miles) length
- Avenue Verte route via Newhaven/Dieppe is presented as a 9-stage itinerary with stages between 13-63km (8-39 miles) in length
- Routes pass through either Kent and Haute-d-France or East Sussex and Normandy
- Routes are described north-south but a summary description is also provided for those wanting to cycle in the opposite direction
