She has published numerous articles and books, including 'Alcohol and Other Drugs: Self Responsibility (1989), Controversies in the Addiction Field' (1991), 'Clean Living Movements: American Cycles of Health Reform' (2000), 'The Progressive Era's Health Reform Movement' (2003), and 'The Eugenics Movement' (2005). All these publications include various aspects or viewpoints concerning alcohol or temperance movements.
