In a city under siege, four people whose lives have been upended are reminded of what it is to be human. From his window, a former musician sees twenty-two of his friends and neighbors killed. Driven to action by this brutality, the man returns to his abandoned cello, and in an act of defiance, decides to play at the site of the attack for twenty-two days in their memory. He draws in three others with his haunting music.
