    Description

    Paul Winstanley was born in Manchester in June 1954. He studied painting at Cardiff College of Art from 1973 to 1976 and at the Slade School of Art in London from 1976 to 1978. He won the first prize of the Unilever Award at the Whitechapel Open in 1989, and was Kettle"s Yard artist in residence at the University of Cambridge in 1991"2. He had a major retrospective of his work at Art Space, Auckland, New Zealand in 2008, and in 2013 his photographic project Art School was published by Ridinghouse. Winstanley has shown regularly in Europe and the United States, and his works are included in collections all over the world, including Tate Modern, MoMA New York and the Irish Museum of Modern Art.
