A terminally ill patient is murdered in his bed. It seems senseless - he had only weeks to live. But Detective Hunter of the LA Robbery Homicide Division is more shocked by the calling card left behind. The killer is trying to communicate with police. But then another body is found - and with it a new calling card. And there's no apparent link between the first and second victims.
