    Our Dancing Days

    Description

When artist Tessa Fulks is commissioned to paint illustrations for a book on the historic houses of Suffolk, she finds herself back at St John's, the medieval manor house where she once lived as part of a hippy commune in the seventies. As she picks up her sketchbook, she starts to recall the memories from a past she has repressed for twenty years, and in recounting her experiences, her steely, icy core starts to thaw. Tessa remembers life at the commune from its glowing, golden 'dancing' days of self-sufficiency and togethernesss, through to the dark, foreboding place it becomes when tragedy strikes. An unsettling story that explores the distances that can exist between people and the power of memory to heal. (Kirkus UK)
