The European Platform for Conflict Prevention convened 300 representatives from governments, research institutions, and nongovernmental organizations from more than 50 countries for the Towards Better Peacebuilding Practice international conference in October 2001. This book presents the results of that conference in the form of in-depth articles, case studies, best practice inventories, and extensive documentation. Issues of peace studies, conflict prevention, refugee programs, civil society building, and political conflicts are discussed to offer reflections and practical strategies for increasing peacebuilding efforts in the future.
