System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager Unleashed: Supplement to System Center 2012 Configuration Manager (SCCM) Unleashed

ConfigMgr 2012 is "user-centric," meaning it targets management at the user, not the device, delivering the right app in the right way to the right user under the right condition. With the proliferation of different devices accessing information in the cloud, ConfigMgr enables the user to be productive anywhere and at any time; yet maintains IT control of software applications and updates as it balances the need for end user empowerment.

New features with SP1 and R2 include cross platform support, revamped mobile device management and integration with Intune, Microsoft's cloud-based software for cloud and on-premise client management, along with changes to user and data profiles, new application deployment types, and numerous changes to the operating system deployment feature (OSD). The book plans to discuss these and other updates to this System Center component.

Following in the footsteps of other System Center Unleashed books, System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager Unleashed provides in-depth reference and technical information for updates to System Center 2012 Configuration Manager. With general availability of System Center 2012 R2 scheduled for October 18, 2013, the authors plan to incorporate real world experiences and best practices into their coverage of this newest release.
