Daniel, a Jewish violin maker from Crakow, manages to survive the living hell of Auschwitz working as a carpenter. When the camp commander, a classical music lover, discovers Daniel's special skills, he decides to put him to the test: Daniel will have to make a violin that plays to perfection.
