The Nobel Prizewinners' dinner is one of Stockholm's most glamorous events. But the atmosphere changes dramatically when two shots are fired on the dance floor. Reporter Annika Bengtzon catches a glimpse of the suspect, and wants to get back to the newsroom as quickly as possible. But as more brutal murders follow, she finds herself in the middle of something far larger than she had anticipated. No longer just a reporter but also a vulnerable key witness, she begins to close the gaps linking these crimes, and realises that knowing the truth can be deadly.
