One morning several children discover a macabre find. From the ceiling of the schools gymnasium are hang, with mathematical precision, five mutilated corpses. The setting recalls a public execution. The chief inspector of the police of Copenhagen, Konrad Simonsen, abruptly interrupts his holidays in the Danish coast to lead the investigation. Along with his team, Simonsen tries to resolve some crimes whose spectacular turns and settings keep in suspense at the whole country.
