"Caballeros de fortuna is a choral story, written over the period of five years, brimming with that refined and difficult pleasure of restraint, both in composition and in language. A story in which all the characters enter the same labyrinth, each of them through a different access, and they all roam through it to meet at its center, where their fates unite and neither dispersion nor withdrawal are possible. This is the story of how five private lives become intertwined into one single collective destiny, which turns into an existential adventure. Some may find a treasure, others ruin or death, some maybe even glory, and what happens to some of them is an essential part of what happens to the rest, as in the old wheels of fortune.
