H.pylori induced inflammation in the pathogenesis of gastric cancer

H.pylori induced inflammation in the pathogenesis of gastric cancer

Description

H.pylori induced inflammation is one of the most important factors in the pathogenesis of gastric cancer. Persistent presence of H.pylori results in cytoskeletal remodelling in the gastric mucosa leading to precancerous and finally cancerous lesions. The host immune response as well as pathogen's virulence factors together decide the course that the H. pylori infection would take. This doctoral thesis aimed at studying the various host immune molecules and the pathogen's virulence factors and their role in progression of simple H.pylori infection to gastric cancer.
