Concepts such as 'educational standards' and 'optimization' have created realities that allow us to consider education in a particular way. However in art, we have to deal with eventful singularities and with the incommensurable. Competence orientation fixated on performance monitoring misses that which distinguishes art and education as central stimuli for human existence. Against this backdrop, the contributions to this volume highlight the dimensions of performance and resonance as characteristics of artistic educational work.
