C'est au milieu du 19ème siècle que se développa la coutume d'envoyer des cartes de Noël pour présenter ses voeux à la famille, aux amis et aux connaissances à l'occasion de cette fête. Tout comme autrefois, la réalisation de ces cartes, véritables oeuvres d'art originales nécessite aujourd'hui autant d'amour, de créativité et de temps. Les 68 cartes sélectionnées pour cet ouvrage sont des exemples d'une importante collection de cartes de Noël à laquelle travaille Alexandra Adami depuis plus de 10 ans. Chaque carte se distingue par une grande originalité et illustre la façon dont des familles célèbres, connues, mais aussi inconnues, s'échangent leurs voeux de bonheur en Europe et en Amérique. The custom of sending relatives, friends and acquaintainces seasonal greetings in Christmas cards began in the middle of the 19th century. In those days, as nowadays, artistic and original cards were created and produced with lots of love, creativity and time. The 68 cards that have been selected for this book are examples of an extensive collection of Christmas cards, which Alexandra Adami has been working on for over 10 years. Each card is distinguished by its quite unique originality and illustrates how famous, well-known and also less well-known families in Europe and America sent their seasonal greetings. Radiant and happy children are the most popular themes that are usually depieted in an artistic fashion through photography. In the Christmas spirit, part of the carnings from this wonderful book is donated to the charity Clic Sargent-Caring for Children with Cancer.

Mitte des 19, Jahrhunderts entstand der Brauch, Verwandten, Freunden und Bekannten mittels Weihnachtskarten Crüsse zum Fest zu senden. I 68 biglietti d'auguri selezionati per questo volume sono esempi tratti da un ampia raccolta di biglietti d'auguri di Natale a cui Alexandra Adami lavora da oltre 10 anni. Ogni biglietto si distingue per un'originalità tutta sua e illustra in che modo famiglie celebri, conosciute ma anche sconosciute dell'Europa e dell'America si scambiano gli auguri per le feste.
