James Bean is the author of Planespotting and The Young Riders in the Hueber Lektüren Englisch series. He has also written a number of textbooks for English language learners, including Grammar Club and Listen to This, which have been published around the world. He taught English at schools in Australia and Hungary. He lives near Sydney Airport, and got the idea for the story of Planespotting from the planes flying over his house!
