HTML5 was defined by the World Wide Web Consortium Group (W3C) in February 2009, and this new standard is being rapidly adopted by popular Web browser development companies such as Apple, Mozilla, Google, and Microsoft. Unlike previous releases of the HTML standard, HTML5 is weighted heavily toward the designer with new style control tools such as Cascading Style Sheets 3 (CSS3), illustration tools (e.g., SVG), and rich media solutions such as support for video. All of this, and not a single plug-in is required. HTML5 book focuses on five high-profile technologies introduced with the HTML 5 specification. Each section is pertinent to the need of the visual designer. The five sections focus on the following aspects of HTML5: tagging, CSS3 style, rendering illustration, rich media, and incorporating JavaScript interactivity.
