Pour son anniversaire, Marguerite rêve d'avoir un animal de compagnie : un agneau, un poney... ou un chien, par exemple ! Bien entendu, ses parents ne sont pas d'accord.
En revanche, au grand bonheur de Marguerite, ils acceptent qu'elle adopte Ciboulette, un hamster trop mignon, avec son air fripouille et son poil tout roux ! Le souci, c'est qu'un si petit animal, ça se faufile partout... et, bien vite, Ciboulette disparaît !
